Post: Anorexic "Tips" from the Biggest Loser

This was the first piece I've read by Charlotte Hilton Andersen, and I want to share it here. I looked at some of her other entries and I can't wait to read them all. According to her bio on the site, "Charlotte runs the popular health and fitness site The Great Fitness Experiment. She was featured on ABC's 20/20 and interviewed on Fox's Morning Show with Mike & Juliette. Her writing can be found on the Washington Post online, Fox News online, LiveStrong, and iVillage as well as many other health, fitness and body image sites."

Hey, thanks for reading my stuff (and liking it!!). It's funny, reading your blog - I really got sucked into the Kimkins thing for a bit too. I hadn't realized there was a lawsuit. I hope you guys win and get a decent settlement!!

Hi Charlotte! Thanks so much for stopping by. I am really enjoying your posts. I wish I had the time and talent to do this topic justice. I'm so glad that you do!

Honestly I wouldn't be surprised to see Heidi Diaz recommend some of the tips you highlighted in your article - I feel her diet site is training ground for how to hate your body and starve yourself. Re-gain, self-hate, diet. Repeat.

Fortunately, I never joined the site, so I won't get anything. I have read Heidi's posts at Lowcarb Friends and on her website, and it really frightened me! Even knowing it's ALL lies and ALL bad diet advice, I can still feel the temptation to try it, 'just for a while.' Scary stuff.

The members who joined may get some of their money back. Certainly not enough to compensate for the time spent on this, and not a dime for the physical and emotional harm she did. The goal is to stop the fraud and keep her from selling her horrible diet advice to anyone else.

Have you seen the Kimkins Diet Survivors blog? Those are real people who suffered real harm from Kimkins.
