Kimkins on Insider
26-Mar-2008 News item:
Middle-age belly bulge boosts risk for dementia later in life, study finds
According to the study, excess belly fat is linked to higher risk for dementia, in addition to the well known links to heart disease and diabetes. The study points to increased risk but did not determine exactly why it is higher.
My hope is that this will lead to other studies, particularly around the concept of controlled carbohydrate nutrition. Excess belly fat is a sign of excess insulin, so managing insulin levels by ditching sugars and starches could very well be proven to help prevent dementia. It appears that more and more, the low fat high carbohydrate diet deemed healthy and pushed at everyone for the past several decades is indeed causing us all to be sicker.
According to LCF administrators, SingingLass and LittleSina are the same people. LittleSina recently appeared in the What’s the Fascination With Kimmer threads, asking questions about – well – herself! 10 posts – here’s a random sample:
In LittleSina's first post, she mentioned her own AOL page.
Since her first post was just before the thread was locked, she posted again to make sure she wasn’t going to be ignored.
Here is the one where she posted a link to her own AOL page.
Realizing it's unusual for a newbie to pull off posting a link, she feigned surprise at being able to figure out how to do a link.
She points out she can too sing - here and here, followed by a diversion. Then she took a shot at her boss, Heidi Diaz / Kimmer. I wonder if Heidi will appreciate the humor?
The weirdest post has to be the last one, where she asks what everyone thinks about the dialog between her and Tippy Toes.
It seems weird that she'd play such a juvenile game when she has so much at stake. Maybe she's plotting an insanity defense?
SingingLass is seeking attention. Looks like she's getting it! Wow! Mariasol: SingingLass wants Attention

Many posts at Amy's, including this one: What Is the Big Deal?
The results of today's hearing are that Heidi Diaz assets remain frozen, in anticipation of the refunds she will likely have to issue to her customers when the Kimkins lawsuit is concluded.
The attorney, John Tiedt, is continuing to collect evidence of the following:
1.) All Kimkins.com screenshots containing false testimonials by Kimmer;
2.) All Kimkins.com screenshots containing false testimonials by anyone other than Kimmer;
3.) All Kimkins.com screenshots wherein the use of laxatives was advised;
4.) Any and all rumors about the Kimkins diet advocated by Heidi Diaz or any of her alter egos (e.g., Jessica Alba lost weight on Kimkins);
5.) All instances wherein Heidi Diaz used an alter ego/another name to acquire assets;
6.) Any evidence implicating Delaney Deaver in engaging in fraudulent conduct or ratifying fraudulent conduct of Heidi Diaz;
7.) A copy of any letter, email, or any other document sent to Heidi Diaz/Kimkins.com complaining of an adverse event or injury as a result of the Kimkins diet.
For details, and a copy of the letter sent to the lawsuit participants, check the Kimkins Lawsuit blog.
Please go visit my dear friend Cleochatra and congratulate her for losing 50 pounds in 10 weeks.
How did she do it? She ATE. Real food. Real fat. Protein. Veggies. What didn't she do? Lie. Lift someone else's photos. Contort her photos. Extended Diet Coke fasting. In other words, shes NOT doing Kimkins! She's controlling her carbohydrates and living her life. Cool!
It has taken her half as long as Heidi Diaz most recent alleged weight loss. Why is that significant? Because Heidi Diaz owns the :cough: controversial Kimkins diet website. The one that claimed "No faster diet! None!" The one that defrauds customers, promotes starvation level calories, chastises customers who go 2 whole days without weight loss for 'cheating', blah blah blah.
Weight loss really can be accomplished by getting rid of the love/hate relationship with food and taking good care of yourself. Cleo is living proof. She's doing great and is having a blast coming up with incredible recipes that we can all enjoy.

None of this is really news, but Laura Dolson provides a nice, concise summary of the Kimkins scam:

Her previous posts can be accessed here.
This is way off topic! I am watching the Today show right now, and this woman is talking about how to save money on cleaning your home. She said the average family uses 12 rolls of paper towels in a week.
SERIOUSLY? TWELVE rolls? AVERAGE? In a WEEK? No way! I don't believe it.
The letter from John Tiedt to the Kimkins class action lawsuit principles outlines a long pattern of lies Heidi Diaz told to get people to join the Kimkins diet, to keep from having to give people their money back, to hurt people, and to cover her hide.
Does anyone still support Heidi Diaz? I really have to wonder. There are people who want to continue using her site, but is there anyone left who is standing by Heidi Diaz herself? Does anyone call her a friend? A coach? Are there people who can see all this evidence of lies and still think she tells the truth ever?
Heidi Diaz lies about who she is.
Heidi Diaz lies about what she looks like.
Heidi Diaz lies about her Kimkins diet details.
Heidi Diaz lies about her weight loss.
Heidi Diaz lies about Kimkins success stories.
Heidi Diaz lies about Kimkins success photos.
Heidi Diaz lies about who owns her company.
Heidi Diaz lies about her income.
Heidi Diaz lies about her business relationships.

Heidi Diaz lies about her health.
Heidi Diaz lies about customers.
Heidi Diaz lies about employees.
Heidi Diaz lies about her expenses.

Heidi Diaz lies about the health impact of her diet.
Heidi Diaz lies about her lies.

Heidi Diaz lies in private messages.
Heidi Diaz lies about private messages being private.
Heidi Diaz lies in emails.
Heidi Diaz lies by phone.
Heidi Diaz lies in videotaped depositions.
Heidi Diaz lies to government agencies.
The cause for Heidi Diaz’ current situation – pending litigation, frozen assets, dying business, potential jail time – is not ducks or mad housewives. It’s her lies!

Some news about the Heidi Diaz / Kimkins class action lawsuit has been posted all over tonight, but many have been having trouble with the size of the file. Try Becky's blog, where she's broken it up in to several segments for easier download:
Official Update on Kimkins Case from John Tiedt
You can bet I'll have more to say, but first I want to read it ALL!
If you were a paid Kimkins member, you are eligible to join the lawsuit against Heidi Diaz.
If you are not sure if you should join the Kimkins lawsuit, consider the Kimkins deposition evidence of the lies she told to market her site. Consider the breach of contract when she banned people without warning or refund. Consider the testimony that she has defrauded American tax payers. Consider the people Heidi Diaz hurt with her diet.
Stop the fraud! Here is a fun video that explains how easy it is to join the Kimkins lawsuit, complete with feline awesomeness.
Apparently Heidi Diaz thinks so. The Kimkins Debate (previously called Kimkins Controversy) link is gone from the home page.
It was there so she could say she (eventually) warned people about her lying ways, for the lawsuit. On that page, she sort of confessed that she was sort of creative with her marketing practices: she lied about her weight loss, she lied about her photos, she lied about her personal success, she fabricated success stories, and lifted photos. The inference was that she was done lying now. Believe her?
Of course, I do not. I think she's still lying, still doctoring photos, still lying about her weight loss, and still using sock puppets on the site. And she's still doing the business practices that are getting her sued.

Breakfast-Eating Teens Thinner, Healthier
Teens and adolescents who eat breakfast every day are less likely to become overweight or obese in the near future and they typically lead a more active, healthier lifestyle than their peers who skip breakfast, according to the latest research published by Project EAT. Researchers followed the dietary habits and lifestyles of 2,200 adolescents for five years to identify any possible link between body weight change and breakfast. The study was conducted by the University of Minnesota School of Public Health’s Project Eating Among Teens (EAT).
In the last twenty years, obesity in children has doubled and tripled for adolescents. Estimates are that as many as 12% to 24% of children and adolescents skip breakfast on a regular basis.
Skipping breakfast and other unhealthy weight-control choices are frequently made in 57% of the female adolescent population and 33% of the males. The number of breakfasts skipped increases at an alarming rate as children grow up.
The Project EAT study, titled “Breakfast Eating and Weight Change in a 5-Year Prospective Analysis of Adolescents: Project EAT,” started five years ago when study participants were adolescents. Now in their teens, those who ate breakfast daily are thinner and have a lower body mass index (BMI) than those that frequently skipped breakfast. BMI is a measurement used to determine risk of obesity.
Many people, including teens, think skipping breakfast is an effective way to limit calories but the opposite is actually true, according to Dianne Neumark-Sztainer, PhD, Project EAT’s principal investigator. Skipping breakfast leads to overeating later in the day, especially in the evenings.
Full details of the Project EAT study are to be published in the March issue of the journal, Pediatrics, the official publication of the American Academy of Pediatrics.
Since AmyB was banned, without any reason other than possibly Kimmer's jealousy of Amy's real weight loss, she's lost contact with many friends.
